Extreme heat

Extreme heat

The Met Office has forecast that in at least the next two to three days there is a 70 per cent chance of temperatures in the West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England, Southeast England, London and Southwest England regions, being high enough on at least two consecutive days to give rise to significant health risks.

The Heatwave Plan for England, first published in 2004, has been revised as a part of raising both public and professional awareness. The Plan sets out the arrangements that will apply, and the actions required, in advance of, and during, a heatwave.
