Mind your own business!!!
29 April 2009

A new Business Continuity campaign has been launched today to assist Local Authorities to comply with their obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act in delivering advice to businesses. The London Local Authorities’ Business Continuity Promotion Steering Group has developed a range of products that are easy to use and will take little time and little money to complete, although will enable any business to get up and running again quickly if a disruption does occur.
The target group was Small and Medium Enterprises and research has shown that there are over 500,000 businesses in London that are sole traders or employ less than 4 people. We were advised that it is difficult for these types of business to attend conferences and seminars or have the resources to develop large scale Business Continuity plans.
The main focus of this project is the Zcard ,which once filled in, will enable recovery to happen, this of course should be kept with business continuity plans so that it can be accessed quickly.
Available in pdf format on this website for ease of use, however if completed on-line there is no point in leaving it on PCs if that is the one item that fails in the event of a disruption.
Any further advice can be obtained from you Local Authority Business Continuity advisor in the Emergency Planning Department.
