Reporting a crime
There are many ways to report offences in London. Below is some advice on who to contact if you do become a victim of crime.

Emergencies
In an emergency or when a crime is in progress, dial 999 to call the police. You can dial 999 for free from any public phone.
Non-urgent crime
- To report a non-urgent crime, contact your local police station. For Central London this is the West End Central Police station on +44 (0)20 7437 1212.
- If you have any information about a crime you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on +44 (0)800 555 111.
Reporting homophobic incidents
In a non-emergency situation you can:
- contact your local police station direct.
- contact your local LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Police Liaison Officer – their contacts can be found online, usually through the Community Safety Unit.
- report the crime by phone or online to Galop (www.galop.org.uk) - London's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community safety charity.
- report the crime by phone or online to London Friend – charity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
- call Crime Stoppers.
- report crime to the police funded True Vision website either on the record or anonymously.
Reporting racist incidents
In a non-emergency situation you can:
- report crime online at the London Metropolitan Police website.
- call Crime Stoppers
- report crime to the police funded True Vision website either on the record or anonymously.
